Naturally the oak does not need a finish and will actually harden with age (exposed to the weather the colour will turn to a greyish shade). Inherent with oak posts splits are likely to be present on received post as well as appearing overtime, this will not however reduce the strength of the post (feature often deemed desirable and rustic).
Please utilise the supplied comments field if a specific post height is required (e.g. "please cut to 1.8m length [from hanging arm to base]" and if alternative hanging positions are required [e.g. 30cm centres]).
