Please note, post is oak and inherently may have some splits in the timber; this will not however affect the posts strength (cracks / weathering often deemed as a desirable character of oak). Quoted post section of 100mm x 100mm is sawn size, edges are further processed (planed) to ensure they are true/square final post size could be reduced to around 90mm x 90mm (a consideration if planning to install via a bolt down/metpost post support).
